OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group Charge
OVERVIEW
The OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group is charged with identifying and researching new and existing options relating to OPAC and EBSCOhost display and functionality, communicating these options to appropriate staff, and implementing them.
MISSION
The mission of the OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group is as follows:
- Identify, research, recommend and implement new and existing OPAC display and functionality options such as new OPAC releases, inclusion of book reviews, book rating systems, book covers, and table of contents information in the OPAC.
- Research, recommend and implement OPAC indexing changes.
- Research, recommend and implement display of database and ejournal license information available through ERM.
- Research and recommend integration of OPAC and EBSCOhost functionality and display with the library web site and other discovery mechanisms.
- Identify, research, recommend and implement changes to My Millennium and other personalized OPAC and EBSCOhost customization options.
- Review, recommend and implement suggestions from library staff regarding the above.
- Communicate and seek input on all potential OPAC and EBSCOhost display and functionality enhancements with appropriate personnel and departments.
TEAM MEMBERS
The OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group is comprised of the III system administrator, at least one public services representative, the Digital Access Coordinator, and a LAMP liaison.
Current members are: Rod Lawlor, Kate Yonezawa, Jane Gronemyer, Susan McEvoy, Laurel Kristick, Loretta Rielly (chair)
REPORTING
The OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group reports to LAMP. The current LAMP liaison is: Laurel Kristick.
COMMUNICATION
The OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group is responsible for gathering input pertaining to its charge from throughout the OSU Libraries. The Work Group is responsible for disseminating its work to OSU Libraries. To help with communication, the Work Group will utilize an email discussion list, wiki and other communication tools as appropriate.
The OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group will record action items at each meeting, and will record progress on the previous meeting's action items. From this information, the Work Group will produce a report outlining its main activities and accomplishments on a quarterly basis. This report will be disseminated to LAMP. In addition, the Work Group will provide additional updates including draft reports of research, summaries of information gathered, and other information as needed.
RESOURCES
Requests for resources from specific library departments, such as people, may be made to the appropriate people and/or department heads. Requests for new resources, such as new software, may be made to the team's LAMP liaison.

TIMELINE
The OPAC and EBSCOhost Work Group will develop a working timeline for researching and implementing design and functionality changes related to its charge. The timeline will be maintained as a living document on a Work Group wiki and is open to amendment as the team's needs or plans change.
