Troubleshooting for VSTO SE 2005 Enabled TaskTracer

Did you install using setup.exe? If not uninstall TT and reinstall by double clicking setup.exe instead of TaskTracer.msi

Please try the following things if you are not getting events.

• In the application that is not broadcasting events (Word for example):Check Help->About -> Disabled Items
  • If the addin does not appear in the list continue to next item
  • If it does appear select it and press "Enable". Restart Word
• Make sure that VSTO runtime is installed (in Add/Remove Programs should have Visual Studio Tool for Office 2005 SE Runtime)
• Run the Microsoft VSTO 2005 Troubleshooting Tool\ provided by Microsoft.
  • Install Tool
  • Start -> Programs -> Microsoft PSS VSTO 2005 Client TroubleShooter -> Microsoft PSS VSTO 2005 Client TroubleShooter
  • Analyze System
  • Save File
  • Compare to the following screenshots (COMING SOON)
    • Until screenshots are provided. Just save the results to a file and email to TT list if doubt that you have the components OR
    • Compare the this result file from a correctly setup machine Sample Results File
• Check the following registry keys Restarting <application> after each change to check for functionality:
  •  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office_<application>_\Addins\VSTOWordAddin and make sure that load behavior is set to 3. Change to 3 if some other value
  •  Check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0_<application>_\Resiliency backup the key and then delete anything listed there.
