Access to the Guin Library and its resources varies depending on your affiliation with Oregon State University and the Hatfield Marine Science Center.
Borrowing Materials
Library Card Applications
- OSU Faculty (141)are entered in Banner. This includes courtesy faculty.
- OSU Staff (161)are entered in Banner. This includes CIMRS staff.
- OSU Students are entered as they are registered or re-register for a term.
- Non-OSU Researchers at HMSC (142) include the principal investigators for the agencies located at HMSC. These are people who work here full-time and are a high level of research or management. This is the equivalent to Affiliate Faculty/Visiting Scholars (12). They have the same checkout periods as regular faculty, but cannot use Summit. They have access to the databases. They have access to the building after hours.
- Non-OSU staff at HMSC (162) include agency staff permanently located at HMSC. They have 30 day checkout,yet cannot request through Summit. They have access to the building after hours upon approval from the librarian.
- HMSC Volunteers (1)*are entered as residents. THey have borrowing privileges yet no access after hours.
- Contractors for agencies located at HMSC (1) are entered as residents yet no access after hours.
- OCCC Aquarium Science Students are entered as residents yet no access after hours.
